Are your wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses authentic?

  • We are an actual brick and mortar store and only sell authentic designer gowns. We are known as Victoria's Bridal Couture out of Fort Lauderdale Florida 33301 and do not hide our name and actual company information from you. You can verify our authenticity with any of our listed designers by visiting their websites.
  • Please note when getting prices from the internet that we are an authorized reseller of the brands represented and that not all websites can officially sell or even get the real authentic dress. We only quote and sell new dresses, so be very aware of knockoff gowns, second quality, used, floor samples being sold as new, "like new", "look", "We are the manufacturer" or bogus "no tag" dresses and of course anything from eBay. Always check with the original designers website for authorized resellers.
  • Some designers do not condone the selling of their gowns online due to the customer's risk of receiving a bogus dress. Most designers prefer that all gowns are purchased in the physical authorized retail store. As an authorized retail store, we also agree with this policy over purchasing from a non-authentic retailers only found on the web. We want you to be safe and happy with your purchase and not disappointed with others who claim that they are the real deal.

Do I need to make an appointment?

  • An appointment is not necessary, but we strongly suggest that you make one if you want the full service experience. Typically, brides require 1 to 1.5 hours to shop and can use a helping hand getting in and out of the gowns. Bridesmaids typically take around 1 hour for shopping and can use our "self service" area to speed up shopping.
  • To make an appointment, please click here to schedule. Someone will be contacting you within 72 hours to confirm your appointment.
  • You can call our store to make an appointment by dialing 954-522-1678. Please note that due to high call volumes, we may not be able to answer you call immediately. You can leave a message with your return phone number so we can return your call within an hour. Also note that this number if for in-store customers only and internet questions or request will not be answered.

I see no price listed for a dress that I am interested in, why is that?

  • Our goal is to always offer you low prices on the designer gowns you want. However, some manufacturers place restrictions on how prices on their gowns may be communicated.
  • Some of our vendors do not allow items to be sold online. We still show items that we have exclusively in our retail store. Please visit our retail store if you are interested in these items.

I want dye lot verification on all my bridesmaid dresses?

  • Dye lot verification is when the manufacturer cuts all the pieces of all the dresses in a bridal party out of the same bolt of fabric for color correctness and consistency.
  • Since 2005 and computerized color correctness systems, dye lot verification is not an issue. Only non-authentic gowns made in sub-par manufacturing facilities which do not have computerized systems in place may have issues with color correctness.
  • Many retail bridal brick and mortar stores will scare bridal parties with dyle lot verification to secure orders with them. These stores typically do not have an internet presence and fear the future of bridal.
  • Do not fall victim to higher prices and the dye lot verification scam.

How late can I wait to order a dress to get it in time for the event?

  • Waiting to the last possible moment to order a dress is the best way not get one before your event. There are many reasons to order as soon as you find the gown you love.
    1. The price may change and go up. Typically, prices go up every 3 months and you would hate to loose out on the bargains.
    2. The dress may get discontinued. There are 2 dress seasons for new gowns, but typically 4 times a year for them to get discontinued and no longer made. Some designers also discontinue gowns if materials for that gown can no longer be gotten.
    3. Shipping delays and manufacturing issues may push your gown past you requested date leaving you with no dress. This includes and natural disasters, civil conflicts and/or country dutie policies.
    4. Delivery times change daily and are adjusted by the designer. The designer may have to move manufacturing time longer based on their own reasons.

RUSH, extra length, and bridal bag charges do not show up on my final total, why is that?

  • Extra items and selections are not totalled with your receipt due to availability. We prefer to keep our prices low and not overcharge you for items that we may not be able to get or deliver. If we can get these items and options, we add them to your total bill after the initial order.

Do you provide alterations?

  • As a full service bridal salon, we provide alterations. We do have different pricing for our "in-store" customers and "outside" customers. All internet items that are brought back into the store for alterations are considered "outside" gowns and fall under that rate.
  • Our in-store expert alterations is our specialty, "No more bridal tug!"™ We provide alterations on all wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, flowergirl dresses and party dresses purchased in our store at the "in-store" discount rate. Typically this rate is half of "out of store" prices and what most other bridal stores charge. We do this as an incentive to our loyal "in-store" customers.
  • We also provide alterations for gowns and dresses that you bring in to us. We charge the typical street rate based on the amount of work that needs to be done. Please note that "internet-only" purchased dresses from us, if brought in, are charged at the full alteration rate. Please ask one of our assocaites when visiting our store for the price of alterations.
  • Alterations include adjustment to the hem, fit of the gown, the bustle, strap attachements and adjustments. We charge a flat rate for alterations. Additional work such as creating jackets, bolleros, wraps, shrugs, addition beading, lace, flowers and pickups are charges at an hourly rate plus materials. Estimates will be given and paid for before work is done. All alterations must be paid at the time of the fist fitting.
  • It is recommended that alterations are done at least one month prior to the event date or portrait date. Click here to make an appointment.
  • Warning: Many bridal stores will try to order you a gown too many sizes too large to charge you more for alterations for the extra work. Also many stores hide the alteration fees until after your purchase or force them in the contract. Victoria's Bridal Couture will always give you the cost for alterations and the option not to have them done if you choose to go somewhere else. Remember to ask first, wherever you shop.
  • Pre-fitting: After you have purchased your gown at Victoria's Bridal Couture, and the gown arrives in our store, we will contact you to schedule a pre-fitting appointment. This appointment is to make sure you are pleased with your gown. This is also the time to finish paying off your wedding gown if you have not already done so. We also suggest that you make your final selection of any veils, tiaras and any bridal undergarments such as bras and slips.
  • Alterations: Please come prepared with undergarments, slips and shoes which you are going to wear the day of your event with the garment. This will allow for our seamstress to make a proper fit of your gown. Alterations include adjustment to the hem, fit of the gown, the bustle, strap attachements and adjustments. We charge a flat rate for alterations. Additional work such as creating jackets, bolleros, wraps, shrugs, addition beading, lace, flowers and pickups are charges at an hourly rate plus materials. Estimates will be given and paid for before work is done. All alterations must be paid at the time of the fist fitting.
  • Adjustments: We allow for as many visits as necessary to fit your gown perfectly to you. We do not charge per visit like most other locations.
  • Final visit: Once your alterations have been completed, we then press or steam (FREE of charge) and prepare your gown for the wedding or special event. Your garment will be put in one of our protective bags and we will even help you carry it out to your car.
  • Gown Pressing and Steaming: We offer a wedding gown pressing and steaming service for a nominal charge. This service is free one time with our paid alteration service.

Can I call the retail store if I have an internet order question?

The Victoria's Bridal Couture retail store phones are for in-store customers only. Calls about internet related questions or orders will not be answered and you will be referred to one of our online forms or this question and answer area. We currently do not have a live phone help desk for internet related questions but do have a live internet helpdesk for internet inquires. Can I get internet prices in the retail store?

  • Our internet website typically has items at a reduced price. This is due to the fact that most internet orders require less overhead in relation to the retail store. We strive to provide the best service for our internet customers and offer the lowest prices anywhere.
  • Our retail store is a full service bridal salon located on Las Olas Boulevard in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. As a full service bridal salon, you have the luxury of trying on the merchandise, getting a discount on alterations, free steaming and/or pressing of your dresses, free wedding garment bag on wedding gowns and clear garment bags for bridesmaid dresses. As a full service bridal salon, you get to share your experience with your family and freinds.

I see color selections, but what do they look like?

  • If you would like to see the color listed with a color name we suggest that you check with the designer's website. We do not show colors of our designers merchandise for some of the reasons listed below:
    1. Differences in colors being shown on computer monitors.
    2. LED, LCD and CRT monitors show colors in different shades.
    3. The color in fabric is reflective light and computer monitors use translucent light.
    4. Indirect and direct lighting in the room against a monitor.
    5. Video card settings may be at 256, 65K, 16million, 32million or even 64 bit.
    6. Temperature of your monitors K output can show colors as cooler or warmer.
    7. Computer monitors cannot show proper shadowing in texture.
  • If you desire, you can get a swatch of the fabric in the color that you want if available. Typically swatches cost $15 for processing. Check our website for swatch availability.

Can I place an internet order in your retail store?

  • For your convience, we have an internet kiosk for you to compare prices with our in-store and our internet site. You can even place an order online with us in the store.

Can I order online and then pickup in your retail store?

  • Our Internet Warehouse is located in Miami Florida and does not have access to the public. We ship all items directly from our warehouse to you. Our retail store does not have the ability to receive gowns for internet customers. All orders online will be shipped to you.
  • Our Retail Store is located in Fort Lauderdale Florida and does not handle internet request, website questions, orders status updates, walk-in returns from the internet or price quotes.

Can I take pictures of your dresses?

  • We do allow for photography of our wedding gowns. There is nothing more special than showing the ones who could not make the trip what they missed out on.
  • We also have an in-store live webcam to show those who could not make it what they are missing.

Do you cut the designer tags out of the dresses?

  • It is a known fact that many bridal stores will cut the designer tags out of dresses and/or replace them with their own bridal store name. If you encounter this at a bridal store, run out the door before they take your money. Would you buy anything else designer without knowing what it is? You have to question if the designer gown they are showing you is even the real dress or a knockoff.
  • Victoria's Bridal Couture does not cut or remove designer tags from any of our designer collections. This would be false advertising and we want you to know what a great deal you are getting. We are not afraid of you shopping around, as a matter of fact, we encourage it. We want you to be happy with a wedding gown and/or bridesmaid dress from our store or internet site.
 What is your "Cancellation Policy"?

Due to the nature of custom made bridal merchandise, we are unable to cancel your order once it is place with the designer. If you are within 24 hours of your online order, you can use our online cancellation form at http://www.victoriasbridalcouture.com/orderchangerequest.html
 What is your "Return Policy"?

Due to the nature of custom made bridal merchandise, all sales are final. We are unable to take returns due to event changes, cancellations or fit issues. All dresses and shoes are to the measurement standards provided by our sizes listed when ordering. All other adjustments are the responsibility of the customer. Victoria's Bridal Couture does not pay for alterations in the event the customer requires them. If you feel that your item is outside the measurements when ordering, you may have a defective product. In the case of a defective product, it will fall under the Return and Replacement policy.
